Twenty-six more attacks in just this month. They've been increasing." A massive green dragon to the left declared to the room.
"That's all they ever do is increase! Killing them is so difficult that only our best can do it. And then there is a vastly increased chance our best will be killed. Whats happening is we're slowly being picked off, all of us, one by one." An ice dragon towards the center cried in dismay, "It won't be long now before their forces attack us directly, either by siege or out and out battle on field. We would be crushed. Remember the great wars the library tells us of? This could be ten times worse! There would be no way to defend against them!"
"Your speaking as if a General directs them Dante." A water dragoness off to the side shoots back, "We don't if someone does direct them. And if someone directs them, then we don't know whom. It could be any of them. How do you propose we find him or her and get rid of them if they even exist?"
"I say we send in someone among their ranks. Someone whom has knowledge on how to kill them." Dante replied.
"A difficult proposal at the very best of times. We don't know where their main concentration of population is, either in settlement or in mind. There's no way to infiltrate their ranks, or attack them directly unless we do know." The female replied back.
"And there is an even greater risk." A fire dragon spoke up then, "No single dragon could infiltrate their establishments, be them real or corporeal, unless they were one of them." There was a ringing silence after that.
"Voluntarily become a Shadowseeker?" The shadow counselor whispered off to the side, his quiet voice ringing through the dead silent chamber, "Such an Idea has never been proposed before."
"Proposed! It's unthinkable!" Said the Light Counselor, on his exact opposite, "Nothing like this has ever been suggested before!"
There was more ringing silence.
"We're running out of options." the water dragoness said to the quiet room, "We need to act at some point."
Even more silence, then finally, the fire dragon got to his feet then, "We should send for the guardians then. It's not a matter of morals. It's a matter of necessity. The guardians should know, and they should be the ones to find candidates. Send for lady Cayman!"
