It was only a few months after the final battle with Malefor, when the Dragon Realms were disturbed once again. Something dark, a wave of darkness, pierced through the land and destroyed everything on it's way. Anything that breathed would try to escape, but never make it. Enraged and fearing the worst, Ignitus the Chronicler came to the Dragon Temple, amazing the Guardians and Spyro and Cynder, who thought that the Fire Guardian had died. The wise dragon gazed into the Pool of Visions, but wouldn't tell anyone what he'd seen. He did, however, urge them to evacuate the Realms and leave as soon as they could. Spyro went out to gather as many Realm residents as he could, while Cynder tried to find out what was attacking them. At the last moment the dragons and everything alive and fit enough left the Dragon Realms, going into unfamiliar lands to save their lives. The dark wave of destruction swept over the Dragon Realms, destroying everything Cynder and Spyro had worked for...Now, ten generations later, dragons have returned to the Realms, and began building it up again. A court of twelve dragons, all direct descendants of Spyro and Cynder, decided that there should be four cities: Draconia, Avalon, Hesperia and Forsakia. The dragons peacefully await the birth of the third Purple Dragon, making all preparations and guarding the lands more than ever. But nobody ever wondered: what if there is no third Purple Dragon? But slowly, the Court of Dragons begins to realize that there is something wrong... With no Purple Dragon to regain and keep the balance of the Earth, Nature has decided to take matters in own hands. It has created a new species of dragons, immortals called Shadowseekers. They feed on blood or life-energy of mortal dragons. Dark and dangerous, they lure dragons into their webs of darkness, only to use them as a short meal before moving on again. But they seem to like Draconia: it's much brighter and wealthier than Forsakia, the ruins of the Well of Souls. With this new world, comes a new era, and a new enemy...
