I know, nobody likes to read a long list of rules which goes on and on and on... So I'll try to keep it short! How annoying it might be, please read all of them, 'kay? Oh, and if anything is confusing, feel free to PM me!

(( The dragon's legend is open to any role-player, from beginner to literate. ))


1. Listen to staff members!

When a staff member tells you to change or do something, (with a good reason) then do it. For example, you want to take one of the canons, but your application is way too short, that's a good reason. If it's just a minor mistake, like using 'hand' instead of 'paw', a staff member shouldn't bug you about that.


2. Be polite!

If you need help or something else, don't PM anyone saying "Hey, I want this and this and that and I want it in thirty minutes! Otherwise I'll tell a staff member that you're harassing me!" because, really, you won't get much help then. And also, if one member gives his opinion about something, don't go crazy on him or her. Giving opinions is legal, people.


3. No "post post post post!!!" PM's please!

Imagine you're in a role-play thread with someone. That person is very busy with his or her life or something else is going so he or she can't post at the moment. It's OK to remind someone that you have a thread, if that person has been online one day ago and thus had the opportunity to reply, but don't go overboard. Asking once is all right. And if someone says "I will reply." that means that he or she will reply, but possibly not immediately.


4. No discriminative/racist opinions in your posts!

Everyone has their own opinion about others, and that's all right to me. As long as I don't see a "kill the black people" post or anything which comes near that. A little joke about it is OK, as long as you're sure that it won't offend the person it's directed to. If I see any racist/discriminative posts, I'll delete it instantly. And the writer of the post will have to apologize.


5. No spamming!

I think we can all agree that seeing the post "Take a look at my site!" ten times in a row is annoying. If you want to advertise, do that in the advertisement board. Also, if you want to say something, people can see the first post, so the nine other posts aren't needed.


6. No chat-speaking!

Words like lol are all right, but please keep the "b4 u" or "this = 4 u" out. Everyone wants to be able to understand what people write. Also, please don't use words like "lol" in an in-character post.


7. No swearing/cursing out-of-character!

In-character swearing is OK, as long as it doesn't go overboard. Nobody wants to see a post with a curse word in every single sentence. Words like damn, bastard, darn and hell are allowed. The f-word is what I don't want to see on this board, with **** or without.

Registration & Account rules

1. Registering can be done with any name. Unless you don't mind staff members being able to see your personal email-address, use maybe a second email-address or make a separate one for this forum. There will be rules for staff members regarding the personal information about the members of this site, but do remember that I can't see what other staff members look at.


2. Make sure you have a good password, which is long and hard to guess but still easy to remember. Don't use the name of your pet, favorite animal, your birth-date or something else which your friends and everyone else can know or find out. Using "spyrolover" or something like that isn't encouraged. If you gave someone your password, and you find out that your password was changed, then I'm afraid there's nothing I can do about that.


3. When you are hacked, though, I am able to delete the account, to make sure that the hacker can't use it anymore. You will then lose your account, dragons, and any other things you've bought/created with that account. In case you want your dragon and stuff back, you have to convince me that you are the person who created the dragon, in order to get permission to take it back.

When your account has be hacked, don't use the same password for your new account. Using it on other sites is also discouraged, but I can't keep you from using it.

4. Once you registered, your display name can be changed into anything you want. Please restrain from using numbers though, and using symbols like = and + isn't encouraged.


5. You are allowed to have as many characters as you can manage, but please keep them active! Multiple accounts are not allowed!

Graphic, signature & avatar rules

1. No pictures above 500px (width), they will stretch the site. If I see any picture which stretches the site, I will resize or remove them. You can use programs like Photobucket, Photoscape and possibly Photoshop to resize your picture.


2. Put the credit (© by [name of the maker]) in the picture you want to use. If it's a picture made by someone else, but you altered it so much that it could be yours, you can put your own name on it. If you are directly using someone else's picture, then put his or her name on it! If I see any pictures without credits on it, I'll ask you to modify it.

Source: If you're using a picture, and you don't know who made it, you can simply put the URL of the site where you found the picture under it. Like: [url=insert-url-here]Source[/url]


3. No pornographic images! This is a dragon forum, not a porn forum where you can share your pictures. Also, for avater and signature, I encourage using dragon pictures only, but of course it's your own choice.


4. Avatars should be 100 x 100 and not wider. Also, smaller avatars aren't encouraged, but if the picture looks better that way, then it's fine.

In-character rules

1. No power-playing!

Power-playing is having a character which is too strong to ever defeat. They don't feel pain, can dodge every attack and their attacks always do damage. When two dragons are in battle, they can of course dodge and block attacks, but they also get hit. A dragon can't block every single attack nor do all of his attacks damage his opponent.


2. No god-modding!

God-modding is controlling someone else's character without asking permission. It is often used in battle, for example: " hit his opponent in his belly, causing [B] to fly into a tree head-first." Character 's attack will cause damage, and character [B] flies into a tree without having anything to say about it. Instead of doing that, you should post:

": flew toward [B] and attempted to hit him in the stomach.

[B]: [B] dodged the attack and took off to prepare an air-attack."

2A. Death, or possible death of another player's character, needs permission of the character's owner before invoking.

3. No Mary Sues/Gary Sues!

These are characters which have no weakness. They are very similar to power-playing, though at first it might seem allowable. Every dragon should at least have one or more weaknesses. Nobody to perfect, and everyone makes mistakes, dragons too!


4. Swearing/cursing is allowed.

A long as it is in-character, and I don't see the f-word. Damn, bastard, darn and hell are OK. If I see the f-word or anything like that, with or without **** I'll ask you to change it. If you don't change it, I will.


5. Liquid time is allowed.

Meaning that your characters can be in multiple in-character threads at a time.


6. No graphic-mating or force-breeding allowed!

Since there are still people that aren't quite suitable with viewing teen rated content, we want this forum to remain friendly and at no more then PG+13. If two dragons are in their mating scene, it's best you fade to black or simply skip the sexual content.

7. Dragons have to be teenager/juvenile before they can give birth. (Mating is allowed as young dragons, but usually doesn't make a female pregnant. Ask me for permission when you want your young dragon to become pregnant.)

Birthing rules

8. When two dragons have mated, the role-player of the mother dragon has to fill out the birthing form. Then an admin or moderator will give you back a form, in the same thread, telling you how many eggs your dragon will lay, what their genders, elements and sides are. A due date will also be given, on that day the eggs will be laid, and a hatching date will be given, on that day the eggs will hatch.

The mother dragon (and possibly also the father) will make a nest. Nests can be made anywhere. The father or mother herself will hunt and protect the nest until the eggs hatch. The parents can either educate their draklings themselves, or take them to the Temple for education. From then the role-player(s) can do whatever they want with their newly born dragons.

Role-playing birthing/hatching isn't necessary, role-playing the mother making a nest and taking them to the Temple isn't required either. This is just to give some more information about how dragons take care of their draklings.

Power rules

1. Powers.

Dragons can have one elemental power and one psychic power, meaning that they can have two powers maximum. If wished, you can buy a power slot for your dragon, so they can have one more power. (You can buy up to two power slots, meaning that your dragon can have four powers maximum.)List of powers.


2. Any color dragon is allowed, but no mixes. If your dragon's scales are brown, all of it's scales should be brown. (Unless your dragon has some sort of mark on his body, like Cynder has on her face) It's horns can be a different color though. The most common seen colors for horns are:

Gold
Silver
Bronze
White

3. Jewelry/gems.

Gems can be earned through posting, you get two gems for each post. You can use gems to buy things at the shop.

At the shop you can buy special jewelry to make your dragon look pretty. Jewelry can vary from bracelets and necklaces to earrings and such. You can also buy "chokers" (the bracelet-like thing that Cynder has around her neck).

In-game gems can be found everywhere and are used to restore your dragon's health, make it's breath-attacks stronger or are evil gems.

Red gems: Restores health.
Green gems: Makes your breath-attacks stronger.
Purple gems: Fury gems, very rare, they make a Fury attack stronger. There are no more Purple Dragons, so they're usueless.
Blue gem: Makes energy-attacks stronger. Can only be used by dragons with energy-power.
Black gems: Evil gems.


(There are no more canons or made-up canons. All dragons will be original.)
