Welcome to The Space Between, a slightly AU Doctor Who roleplay. Based roughly/loosely on all seasons of Doctor Who TV show (and some of the books) and the far future. Not only that! We accept ALL crossovers from anything spacey that you think you can think of... IF you can work your idea into this lovely little fob-watch and then we'll all be happy in this nice little (not so little) universe... Right?
The Space Between.
It's like that little place in your couch that you always find what you're looking for, everything you lost. Sometimes all you'll find is static, pieces of fluff and old junk. But sometimes... You'll find what you'd thought was gone all this time. That extra dollar, or the remote to your DVD player.
And planets.
The Key to Time.
Too powerful for any one being, the cosmic artifact keeps the equilibrium of the multiverse intact.
In his fourth body, the Doctor assembled the Key for the sake of the White Guardian.
In his fifth body, the Doctor discovered that the segments of the Key to Time were decaying the dimensions they inhabited. This decay is a direct result of his actions during the first search for the Key, and it’s assembly with a make-shift sixth segment. The reassembled Key was destroyed in the Chaos Pool, preventing its future use and saving the multiverse. But without the Key’s influence, the universes became unstable.
Gallifrey.
Returned. From across time and space, Rassilon moved the Shining Planet of the Seven Systems to escape the Time War, threatening Earth and all of the cosmos in his mad bid for true immortality. The Doctor thought he’d won. He thought Gallifrey was lost again, trapped behind an unbreakable Time Lock. He was wrong.
Himself a master of time and space, Lord Rassilon snatched the planet from the Doctor’s grasp, securing it in the Space Between. But something’s gone wrong; the Shining Planet is tarnished and broken. Time has moved forward, the planet’s war wounds healing, though ragged scars remain, particularly at ground zero-the capitol city. Worse, the once lovely planet has been damaged by the chrono-spacial movements. Gallifrey no longer solarsynchronous with Kasterborous, leaving one side always in shadow. Deep in the shadows of wildlands, an unstable rift has opened, opposing the Untempered Schism like a magnet, sucking at all of time and space across all the maybes and might have beens.
Pulling.
The effects of the Hand of Omega are subtle. The heart of the capitol lies in ruins, the city itself empty of any living being. But out in the wild hinterlands, the Time Lords live on as they always have-watching. And for so many years the Good Doctor was so sure, so very sure he was the last, that it was he that had to save the world, over and over again.
The lonely man who wanders the stars is wrong again.
He is not alone-in fact he'd been running for so long he'd forgotten to stop and listen. The survivors of the Last Great Time War are being called home, their TARDISes responding to an unknown summons.
Whispers.
Whispers that led the TARDIS and her Doctor into a place the Mad Man with a Box, feared more than death itself: The end of the universe. And he fell. Over and over and he kept falling through time and space; though nothing, sure that he was to be forever forgotten...
'How could I have been so stupid?!'
