Magic
There are three levels of magic: Low or weak magic, middle magic, and high or strong magic. Each level has it's own specific goals and powers, focused on different aspects of Nature. Each dragon also has different preference to what kind of magic they like most and what they can use best. There are also certain rituals that any dragon can do, regardless of the level of magic they are on.
Each dragon will begin with a low level of magic. To gain a higher magic level, they have to attend the Magic Studies at the Dragon Temple in Draconia. Staff members will role-play a teacher (could be seen as an NPC, because there is no application needed.) who will teach your dragon about magic. The learning time differs for each level, from a one-paged thread to a three-paged thread.
These rituals are just a few basic suggestions. With the right herbs and intentions, any ritual could be held for any purpose.
Level one magic
Low or weak magic
Low or weak magic is the lowest level of magic that dragons can do without any education. Low magic is usually done by instinct and intuition, and with some help from Nature. It is mostly useless in fights and is focused on small Nature and small animals.
Flower Light
This is usually the first sign of magic that is shown. It is done by intuition and by Nature. By thought or by visualization, a dragon can make flowers act like artificial lights: the inside of the flower will begin to shine. Takes little energy, but can become more depending on how long the Flower Light is used.
Rising Water
In times of drought and desperate need, a dragon will instinctively know how to make water rise from deep down in the ground. It costs a lot of energy and takes some time to recover from.
Crystal Voice
Done by instinct, a dragon can hum or sing and 'call' small creatures like birds and rodents. When they stop humming for a few minutes, the creatures will leave again. Helpful when hunting is unsuccessful. It does take a lot of energy and takes some time to recover from.
Level two magic
Middle magic
Middle magic is about the middle things of Nature, like medium sized animals, bushes and small creeks. It is done more by clear thought and visualization than intuition or instinct. It takes more energy than low magic, and takes a duration of education and practice before this magic can be wielded.
Streaming Water
With this type of energy, the stream direction of a small river or creek can be changed. It can also be fastened or slowed down. It will last for about an hour, and after that the river or creek will regain it's natural rhythm. Done by visualization and clear thought, takes a bit more strength than low magic does.
Plants and branches
With concentration and lots of visualization, a dragon with much strength and on it's fittest can make plants and branches grow. This is very helpful when they need an escape route or need to hide for small periods of time. It will last for half an hour and then the branches and plants will regain their natural hight. Takes lots of energy and makes dragons feel dizzy and short for breath.
Small Storm
Using this type of magic will summon a small storm, with clouds going dark and hard winds going over the surroundings of the dragon. It will last for half an hour and takes up a lot of energy, to the point of passing out when a dragon isn't on it's fittest while doing this. In combination with the Wind power, the storm will become huge and cost less energy.
Level three magic
High or strong magic
High or strong magic takes long education, but is worth the effort and energy put into it. High magic dragons can do everything from the lower levels, but stronger and longer. It will cost more energy in some ways. The lowest level of magic will barely cost energy and effort once this level is reached.
Thunderbolt
With this magic, a dragon can summon a small thunderbolt, which will hurt especially Purebloods. It takes a lot of energy and can't be done twice in a row without a long period of rest in between.
Shadowshield
With a so-called Shadowshield (not the same as Shadowseeker powers) a dragon can form a shield which keeps Purebloods, Newbloods and Rogues from taking their energy. It can only be held up for a short period of time, though, and is often followed by an enforced escape.
Light sword
With this type of magic, a dragon can summon a sword made of crystallized Light, which will be extremely effective on Shadowseekers. Very strong dragons with a lot of education and practice might even create a Lightsword that can hurt Oldbloods up to a small degree.
Level four magic
Portal magic
Portal magic is extremely rare and cannot be taught at the Dragon Temple. Only by finding one of the old books, and decoding them with a strong spell, can a dragon have a small chance of revealing the secrets of this magic. It teaches dragons how to make Convexity Keys, how to open a portal and how to banish one into Convexity. It also reveals how to open a portal to the Void. The books which holds the secrets of Portal Magic may also hold information about Oldbloods and Purebloods.
Only the strongest dragons can survive doing this kind of magic, it often results in the death of the dragon halfway the magic-doing.
Shadowseekers are immortal and therefor can do this magic without a risk of dying. They might get near-fatal and permanent damage from doing this kind of magic.
Ask permission to a staff member before you claim your dragon has found the Book of Portals!
