Transformation from Darkness (open)

as he laid in the back of a small cave, Cosmoschaos clenched as another wave of severe pain rushed through him, watching as more of his scales turned black. thinking of what had happened, Cosmoschaos remembered waking up in a pool of blood. starting to crawl, Cosmoschaos was able to make it to the cave he was in now within a twelve hours of the Shadowseeker's feast on him. since then, Cosmoschaos has felt the waves of pain increase and his scales change. as he looked out of the cave as the sun reached the top lip of the cave entrance, Cosmoschaos let out a loud scream as a massive wave of pain went through him.

[Savern Nirugara]

Savern had been flying over the wilderness for hours, after his latest mission he felt satisfied, he had a pouch full of gold to add to his hored and another three shadowseekers lie dead.
"Ahhh....Life has been good..." An ear splitting scream cut him from his thoughts, a scream he knew all too well...And it came from his cave. He flew down, folding his wings and reopening them just in time to land softly at the entrance, dashing in once he had his balance. On the ground before him lie a familiar looking dragon with several wounds along his side. He waisted no time grabbing his healing herbs, applying garlic, marigold, and comfrey to help ease the pain and help with the infections. "You OK?" He asked him while adding the last of the herbs.

looking up at the voice, Cosmoschaos saw the outline of a massive dragon. as the head of the dragon blocked the portion of the sun, Cosmoschaos answered, "no, i'm not." bringing his claw up to reach for the herbs, but stopping when he saw that the color of his arm was starting to change. suddenly, a wave of pain rushed through Cosmoschaos and he curled up, trying to ease the pain, to no avail. as the pain worsened, time began to become distorted, slipping in and out of consciousness.

[Savern Nirugara]

As the smaller dragon curled up, Savern Began to notice the scales changing on him, he had no idea what do now. Savern stood and waited a few moments in hope something would go right, bu after a few minutes he still hadn't noticed any change. Frantically, he tried everything he knew, "Do you know what happened?" He asked, hoping that it might suggest a cure.

as the wave of pain passed and he heard the question, Cosmoschaos said as his mind became stable, "i was feasted upon by a Shadowseeker two days ago. i survived, and i began to crawl in the direction i thought was the Temple, but when my vision cleared, i was here." as more of his scales turned black, Cosmoschaos clenched as the pain retuned. after a minute, the pain subsided and Cosmoschaos turned to look up at the dragon. as he looked into the eyes of the dragon, a name suddenly appeared in Cosmoschaos's mind and he said, "your name... is Savern, isn't it?"

[Savern Nirugara]

"Yea, my name is Savern..." He took a long look at the dragon, and he saw...besides the new black scales, was sone of his old friends. "Cosmosaura?! Damn where have you been, its been almost a hundred years since I saw you last!" Savern couldn't help but smile, now knowing he wasn't the only of the past dragons was a great relief, and a glimse of hope that the shadowseekers could be beat. "Zgetting drained isn't fun but unless it snacks on you for a while its not much to worry about in the long run...but for now I suggest you get used to those pain waves, they stick around for a while, you may want to try poppy seeds.

as he heard the name Cosmosaura, Cosmoschaos's right eye turned neon azure and his voice changed just slightly, saying, "its nice to see you again too, Savern. i've been reincarnated and i'm now Cosmoschaos, but i think i'm returning. this may be the last time you hear me, but do stick around with Cosmoschaos a little after this." smiling, the neon azure left Cosmoschaos's eye and his head slightly fell to the floor. lifting his head, Cosmoschaos said, "what happened?" then he clenched his teeth as another wave of pain went through him again.

[Savern Nirugara]

"Ohh..er...you just blacked out for a minute, here's some poppy seeds, they will help with the pain." He lifted Cosmoschaos up onto his bed and used his telekinesis to pull a jar of poppy from a near bye shelf and handed it to the cosmos. "Is there anything else you would like?"

after taking some poppy seeds and swallowing them, Cosmoschaos laid his head down and said, "i think i may just rest." closing his eyes, Cosmoschaos slit into dreams.

opening his eyes, Cosmoschaos was in the middle of a crystal room. looking around Cosmoschaos's eyes came upon a table with a book. walking up to the book, Cosmoschaos looked through the pages, coming to a page that made him stop. looking at the name, Cosmoschaos repeated the name a few times until a touch on his brought him out of his trance. as he turned to see who it was, Cosmoschaos heard a voice coming from everywhere as he stared into the face of a crystal dragon, "hello Cosmoschaos, and welcome to the Crystal Aurorarium. my name is Cosmosaura and you are my reincarnation." shocked, Cosmoschaos realized what that meant. watching Cosmosaura turn and walk to the other side of the room, he turned towards Cosmoschaos and said, "remember, even darkness has a heart. so if ever in a fight, learn about the opponent and figure out a way of helping them. the Crystal Legacy's purpose may be over, but it will never die." as he listen to the last of Cosmosaura's words, Cosmoschaos felt a tug of his mind as he woke up.

slowly opening his eyes, Cosmoschaos saw that Savern was asleep. slowly getting up through the pain, Cosmoschaos saw that all of his scales were black except for his wings and underbelly, which his underbelly became crystal-like blue and his wings a kind of translucent style. quietly walking to the entrance of the cave and looking down the ledge, Cosmoschaos felt a massive wave of pain course through him that was worse then every other wave. as he clenched his teeth, Cosmoschaos couldn't stand anymore and he fell off the ledge, dislodging several large rocks on his way down, nearly covering him as he hit the bottom of the drop.

[Savern Nirugara]

A loud cracking noise awoke Savern from his rest, he looked to see cosmoschaos was gone, and the mouth of the cave broken. He slowly stood and walked to the edge. He took a look down, a pile of rocks were laying there...with a pair of wings strutting out, Savern waisted no time in sliding down, removing the pile from the dragon. his worry was replaced with amusement, "Well now looky what wondered into the wrong cave, I didn't even have to beat you down... a bit pathetic if you ask me." He drew his blade, holding it an inch from cosmos's neck. "Any last words, Shadowseeker!"

as he opened his eyes and saw the knife, Cosmoschaos said, "Savern, i really don't want to die, especially by your hand." as he looked into Savern's eyes, waiting for his action, Cosmoschaos felt a hunger, a feeling to feast. looking away, Cosmoschaos felt the hunger lesson, but it still nudged at him.

[Savern Nirugara]

"Really... you just looked at me like an all you can eat dinner, not very convincing" He put the blade closer, letting the tip poke into him, "Try again, you must think I'm a fool, I've seen hundreds turned and claim they haven't changed, two days later they always took a snap at me, if you can prove you are still yourself then I'll let you live. He slid the blade back into it's hilt and reached out with his paw to help him up...

"thank you, and you are right. when i looked at you, a hunger nearly took me. but i think i can control it," Cosmoschaos said, taking Savern's claw and the hunger started to grow. suddenly, a glint in the rocks caught his attention and Cosmoschaos walked over to it. reaching into the rocks and dragging out a medium-sived crystal, Cosmoschaos felt the energies running through it and felt his hunger lust for the energy. suddenly, as his grip on the crystal tightened, Cosmoschaos felt the energies cease within the crystal and his hunger satisfied. turning to Savern, Cosmoschaos said, "i think i found a solution to my hunger."

[Savern Nirugara]

"Hrm I never woulda' thought of that, It was so obvious I never thought to try it, I see you haven't lost your touch even after being reincarnated!" Savern started grabbing a few of the jewels and putting them in a leather satchel, "What do you plan on doing now?" He asked before handing the now full satchel to Cosmochaos.

"i think i may start wondering. maybe start back up my search of the past, and track Shadowseekers on the way. i also want to find a place called the 'Crystal Aururarium'," Cosmoschaos said, taking the satchel. turning to face the the open view of the Shattered Valley, Cosmoschaos said, "all i know is, sometimes the past is key to many questions." turning his head to Savern, Cosmoschaos said with a smile, "i hope you stay well until our next meeting, Savern." turning back to the openness, Cosmoschaos jumped and opened his massive wings, catching a breeze and gliding towards the horizon.
